Aris Borjas (pronounced BOR-haas)

Currently studying for an advanced degree at Cal Poly SLO, where he graduated in 2007. Began throwing the javelin at Fresno City College where he became conference champion, California State champion, and a JUCO All-America performer in 2005. Also a football player, he was a defensive starter for the Broncos for 2 years. In track & field, in 2006 he was the Big West Conference Javelin Champion. In 2007, he won conference and NCAA West Region titles, placed 3rd at the NCAA Championships, and 13th at the Outdoor USA Championships. His 2007 PR of 236’ 5” (72.06m) meets the “B” qualifying standard for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials. His professional goal is to own a successful business. His athletic goal is to become on of America’s best javelin throwers and make the USA Olympic Team.
